With the 2014 World Cup close at hand there are a number of ways you can
ensure you don’t miss a match. To keep the FIFA World Cup schedule
separate from your work or social calendar, use a third-party app, or
download via
Google Calendar for Android and iCalendar for iPhone.
Method 1 of 3: Adding Via Third-Party App
1. Download the official FIFA app.
This application has a special Match Centre that lists past, current
and upcoming matches. It is likely to have the most up-to-date
information about the World Cup of all third-party apps.
2. Use the ESPN app to stay up to date on matches if you have a subscription to ESPN. You should be able to enter your
cable subscription details to gain access to extended viewing.
3. Try a free app like “World Cup Finals” to gain access to schedules and brackets in an easy to read format.
Go to your app store or Google Play and search for “World Cup.” Browse
through the photos to find the schedule images you like best.
Method 2 of 3: Adding Via iCal
1. Turn your phone on. Go to your settings app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down until you find the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” option. Tap it.
3. Tap “Add Account.” Then, choose “Other” from the list of options.
4. Choose “Add Subscribed Calendar.”
5. Enter either “http://www.worldcupbrazilcalendar.com/all.ics”
or
“webcal://www1.skysports.com/calendars/football/fixtures/competitions/worldcup.”
You can also go to the Calendar Tree website to add the schedules by
group or round.
6. Tap “Next.” You may get a warning about using the SSL and you should still click “Next.”
7. Tap “Save.” It should be synced to your iCal.
Method 3 of 3: Adding Via Google Calendar
1. Get on a web browser. Sign into your Google account. Go to the Google.com/calendar.
2. Find the link that says “Other Calendars” on the left side of the page. Click on it and select “Add by URL.”
3. Copy either “http://www.worldcupbrazilcalendar.com/all.ics”
or
“webcal://www1.skysports.com/calendars/football/fixtures/competitions/worldcup.”
Paste it into the URL field. Go to the Calendar Tree website to get
group-specific schedules.
4. Click “Add Calendar.” The calendar should be
synced to your online Google account and your Android phone. Since you
have subscribed, rather than imported, the calendar it should update
with team times and names automatically
